This Privacy Policy describes how Yum Bowls (“Yum Bowls”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects your personal information when you access or use our website and ordering service at yumbowls.in (together, the “Service”). It applies to all users of the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

Yum Bowls operates a fresh-food ordering and delivery service for residents of partner apartment communities in India. For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), Yum Bowlsis the data fiduciary responsible for your personal data. You can contact us using the details in the “Grievance Officer & Contact” section below.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. We never receive or store your Google password.
  • Delivery & contact details. Your phone number, apartment community, and flat number, which you provide so we can prepare and deliver your order and contact you about it.
  • Order information. The bowls, plans, sauces, delivery dates, time slots, payment mode, and amounts associated with your orders and subscriptions.
  • Payment information. Online payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation of a transaction and limited details (such as payment status) but do not collect or store your full card or banking credentials.
  • Technical & usage data. Basic session, device, and log data needed to keep you signed in and to operate and secure the Service.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data and ask that you do not send it to us except where strictly necessary (for example, an allergy you choose to disclose so we can serve you safely).

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
  • To prepare, schedule, and deliver your orders to your flat.
  • To contact you about your orders, deliveries, and support requests.
  • To process payments, issue receipts, and maintain your order history.
  • To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
  • To comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and to detect and prevent fraud or misuse.

4. Legal Basis & Consent

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent and to perform our contract with you (delivering the orders you place), as well as to comply with legal obligations and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us or deleting your account, though this will not affect processing already carried out and may prevent us from providing the Service.

5. Use of Google User Data

Yum Bowls’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use Google sign-in solely to authenticate you and obtain your basic profile (name, email, and photo). We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to third parties except as needed to provide and secure the Service or as required by law.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

  • Delivery partners — your name, flat number, community, and phone number so your order can reach you.
  • Service providers / processors — for authentication (Google), database and hosting, and payment processing. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
  • Legal & safety — when required by law, court order, or government request, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and protect the rights, property, and safety of our users, the public, or Yum Bowls.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, subject to this Policy.

7. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar local-storage technologies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use them for third-party advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect sign-in and core features.

8. Data Storage, Transfers & Security

Your data is stored with our managed database and authentication providers using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. Some providers may process or store data on servers located outside India; where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data remains protected. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account and order information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data unless we are required by law to retain it.

10. Your Rights & Choices

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. You can view and edit your phone number, community, and flat number from your profile at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us at yumbowlsofficial@gmail.com. You may also sign out at any time and revoke Yum Bowls’ access from your Google account’s security settings. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

11. Marketing Communications

We may send you transactional messages about your orders and account. If we send promotional messages, you can opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions or by contacting us. Opting out of promotional messages does not stop essential service communications.

12. Children

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Effective” / “Last updated” dates above and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

14. Grievance Officer & Contact
